Dr. Goltstein is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence. He gave a talk on the Insights into adaptive perceptual decision formation from cognitive models informed by neural decision signals, specifically neuronal representations of visual categories in the mouse brain. He left us with two findings: 1) After learning, visual cortex neurons are more likely to respond to stimuli, choices, and reward, and 2) higher visual area POR shows the strongest changes supporting categorical discriminations.
