Gabriel Gonzalez

Undergraduate

Gabe is an third year undergraduate at Columbia studying Biomedical Engineering. He is interested in intersection between neuromodulation and genetic engineering. He hopes to study neuromodulatory networks, specifically those relating to neurodegenerative diseases, and discover targets for therapeutics ultimately to create gene therapies to make neurons more responsive to current noninvasive neuromodulation techniques. Gabe is currently working on studying the effects and mechanisms of certain neuromodulatory neurotransmitters on glial cells in the mouse brain.
